AMAZING DUO: THE CIVIL WARS

If you're a fan of "The Hunger Games" or Taylor Swift, you've likely already heard of this indie music duo THE CIVIL WARS. Composed of Joy Williams and John Paul White, they recently covered "Sour Times", a song originally performed by Postishead...This is so intense and magnetic- watching them perform together is like a religious experience!


The duo's rendition of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" is another favorite! Country, folk, pop - we can add Blues to that with this excellent cover!!


The Civil Wars took home two Grammy's this year winning Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Folk Album collaborated with Swift on the first "Hunger Games" single "Safe & Sound". Their first full length album "Barton Hollow" was released February last year. =O

YOU ARE NOT ALONE...

Singer R. KELLY wrote and produced the song YOU ARE NOT ALONE for Michael Jackson back in 1995. And now his paying tribute to the King of Pop with a new version of this uplifting song.

The track will appear as a bonus cut on Kelly's upcoming album 'Love Letter'. Seeing as how he wrote it, his remake is good. It's more of a millenium track which younger generation would love to hear.

Although the singer-songwriter got himself arrested last week on suspicion of narcotics possession, I don’t really care!...It’s all about the music, and the 23-year-old rising star (who has filipino blood on his veins!) is so amazingly talented!!!

Kris Allen in Manila Concert!

American Idol Season 8 winner Kris Allen will be coming to Manila and Cebu this February for a concert!

He will be accompanied by Jabbawockeez, an all male hiphop dance group and the popular acoustic band Boyce Avenue.

Catch them perform live in an event called Musicfest 2010 on February 5, 2010 at the SM Cebu North Annex Parking and February 6, 2010 Pattern hills concert McKinley, Taguig.

Meanwhile, check out his amazing rendition of Michael Jacksons' MAN IN THE MIRROR, one of the song he performed during Idol days. Enjoy!

American Idol Season 8 winner KRIS ALLEN is set to released his debut album on November 17! The highly anticipated first single from the upcoming album is entitled LIVE LIKE WERE DYING (originally recorded by The Script) which you can stream the song below:




Its a bright, positive single not far from what to expect from Kris, based on his American Idol performances- a crunchy, acoustic coffee-house rock vibe ala John Mayer or Jason Mraz. It was pretty clear that this was the type of music Allen wanted to make: fun, upbeat and catchy!

Sa first entry ko dito sa COVER CORNER blog, I decided to feature an ICON na talaga namang maraming naiambag sa music industry. And that's no other than the King of Pop, MICHAEL JACKSON.


I grew up with his music. Naalala ko i even tried to moonwalk like him. Halos lahat yata ng kanta niya ay alam ko pero sino nga ba ang hindi?...

Michael Jackson created a new dimension in music...an amazing entertainer na tanging sya lang ang nakakagawa. A true Music legend no matter what people say about his personal life. I have great respect for MJ and for his work, and I know that people who judge him can never achieve what he achieved in his short life. He is a genius. His work excelled all the negative publicity he got towards the end of his life.
